First Amendment, Media & Entertainment Law

In the field of First Amendment, Media and Entertainment Law, our  Media and Entertainment Litigation Practice Group has ample experience litigating reporters’ rights, issues arising in the course of journalists’ news-gathering activities, and challenges to laws, regulations and other governmental action on the grounds that they violate the freedom of speech, press and related federal and local principles.

We have also defended journalists and media companies from defamation claims, appeared on their behalf when served with investigative or civil subpoenas to produce information, and preserved their rights to access the courts, public proceedings, as well as public documents and information.  The members of this practice also provide guidance on many related social media issues regarding reporting and news coverage.
