Personal Injury, Product Liability and Aviation

Our Personal Injury, Product Liability and Aviation Practice Group provides effective assistance in complex litigation matters generally available only in larger law firms.

We have defended and continue to represent clients ranging from local business to Fortune 500 companies in an ample variety of personal injury, product liability and aviation claims.  Our team members have been involved in defective design, manufacture and failure to warm claims on behalf of automobile manufacturers and other complex machinery.  In the Aviation litigation field, our attorneys have represented major air carriers and their insureds on multiple claims related to national and international air travel of passengers as well as contract of carriage issues related to cargo and baggage.

Indeed, the members of the Group have participated in some of the most relevant decisions that have been handed down in the areas of personal injury, aviation and product liability in the last ten years.  These include a multimillion dollar damages claim against a major European automaker for alleged defective design, a complex premises liability claim within the customs area at the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in Carolina, Puerto Rico and a substantial damages claim occurred on a flight between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.  In the premises liability field, our team members have successfully defended, or satisfactorily closed, several personal injury cases in multiple venues, including matters where the plaintiff passed away allegedly as a result of injuries suffered.

The Practice Group is headed by Roberto A. Cámara-Fuertes, who has substantial experience in defending personal injury, product liability and aviation claims, and co-wrote the Puerto Rico chapter of the Defense Research Institute’s publication “Product Liability Defenses” (2007 and 2013 editions).
