Tourism & Hospitality

The Government of Puerto Rico and other hospitality-related stakeholders look to Ferraiuoli for the firm’s collective experience in dealing with a broad array of structuring, financing, regulatory and transactional, regulatory and litigation matters within the tourism and hospitality industries.

Ferraiuoli maintains a transactional hospitality practice, having represented the Puerto Rico Tourism Company and the Hotel Development Corporation, in connection with development, loans, concession for tax benefits incentives, negotiations regarding private and public investments, acquisitions and dispositions, ground-up development, redevelopment, and repositioning of properties. In connection with the development, acquisition, and ownership of hospitality properties, we structure complex financing, including debt and equity, public subsidies, tax increment financing, public-private partnerships, and other emerging financing vehicles.

Our attorneys have been involved in the financing and tax concession aspects of several of Puerto Rico’s leading hotels and tourism developments, including the Ritz Carlton Reserve in Dorado, the W Hotel in Vieques, the JW Marriott at Coco Beach, La Concha Resort, the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel and Water Club, as well as other clients doing business internationally. Most recently, our practice has broadened to incorporate international clients.
